Well, what're you waiting for? Do it, JUST DO IT already! The crisis is over, censorship is off the table, the game is excellent and full of classic 90's FPS humor. The only thing missing is a BFG-like weapon, but that's about the only legitimate complaint - now that the censorship scare is over. If you miss the classic 90's FPS games, looking hard for that retro project that will provide the same entertainment and joy that you used to know. Then I'm happy to tell you, you're search is over. Buy Ion Fury and enjoy the wanton carnage, gags, and one-liners. What''re you waiting for?
Capitalist villain, check. Censorship, check. SJW logic, check. Playtonic has seemingly created a nostalgic and fun platformer, reminiscent of a similar game involving a bear and a bird, right? Yet something appears to be missing from many reviews, discussions, and posts. Much like the copy/paste indie-devs, Playtonic has taken up censoring its customers. Not only that, they claim to be doing this, among other things, to create a game "everyone can enjoy." Playtonic has wronged its customers by doing these things and must set them right. I would say Yooka-Laylee is a pass, until such time as Playtonic can correct their conduct and make amends with their customers.
The first game in the series is fantastic, and its stand-alone expansion, as popular opinion goes, is even better. A shame the following sequels entered the realm of sci-fi weirdness - it gets very weird. Not to mention liberal fantasy land where the main villain had become the head of a company. I would say avoid the sequels, stick with the first installment and its expansion.
This should not be here. What it's doing here I do not know. If you came here looking for a game, this is not it. All you do is walk around and listen to narration, nothing more. There is no challenge to unlocking these narrations, they just play when you reach a new area.
It's unfortunately not what we expected. It is more of an RPG than the 2013 SW game, but in all the bad ways. Side missions are actually mandatory. The level-up and upgrade systems are still there. Hub world. Enemies are bullet sponges, and the variety make them too difficult to deal with. Elemental weapon types are needed to defeat the various enemies, which you get from (mandatory) side missions. And it's been reported that loot drops are awful anywhere along the main story levels. It's also been reported that the humor is lacking - which may very well be attributed to his racist side being removed. Although, it's probably just bad comedic timing. #MakeWangRacistAgain Regardless, with the lack of labyrinth-like maps, and spawning enemies still being a thing. Shadow Warrior (2013) 2 is just not the game we wanted. It could still be fun, especially with the co-op feature, but it's just lacking the things that should make it a Shadow Warrior game. With a game like this I'd recommend watching some gameplay videos first, watch a walkthrough, before making a final decision to purchase.
